You could set up a cheap diy waterwheel powered 12v waterpump to pump water up from the river to a couple of larger containment tanks . Activated charcoal is cheap and easy to make to clean it up enough for gray water usage. That leaves the rain water for consumption

If you have a electric sander or something that vibrates (keep your head out of the gutter) us it on the boards to help settle the concrete mix. Even a Sawzall without a blade might even work.

I have watched it draw between 700 and 900 watts while cooling. We had 3 days straight or 88 degrees and I ran the unit 10 am until 6 or 7 pm and the solar intake both ran the Mr. Cool and kept charging the batteries during a sunny day. It was awesome. Kept the cabin at 71 degrees all day

You're working too hard. The bags of cement go from the truck into the form. No sense in stacking them and making an extra step of handling heavy stuff. Looks good and should make the mud easier to keep out of both the house and mudroom. Tapping the forms will help the pea gravel settle and keep the edges solid without small voids.

Going that thick, I think I'd have done a few things different. 1. I'd have drilled some holes into the sidewalk and then put a few short pieces of re-bar in it, and two, wrapped the inside of the form with some towels, to wick the water on the sides. down into the sides, to make sure not to have any dry spots that don't cure because of lack of water. 3. I think I'd also have filled the concrete half full, wet it good, then added the rest and did like you did at the end, just to make sure you get the water all the way through. 4, the voids you had in some of the sides... if you have an air chisel, you could hit the sides to vibrate it so pack to mix a little better. Love you sharing the cheap little projects and also sharing what it cost you to do it.

While It worked, I would have put some dirt or wood in it to make it a bit thinner as it might crack at some point this winter. On the other hand I prefer wood to concrete, but it ain't my house... 🤔 😎
